AuroraWrite is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our Chrome extension.

Data Collection

AuroraWrite does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers.

What We Don't Collect

• Browsing history
• Text content you type
• Usage analytics or telemetry
• Cookies or tracking data

Third-Party AI Services

AuroraWrite sends text to third-party AI providers for analysis. When you use the extension:

• Text from your input fields is sent to your chosen AI provider (Groq, OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic, Together, or Mistral)
• This data is sent directly from your browser to the AI provider's servers
• We do not proxy, store, or have access to this data
• Each AI provider has their own privacy policy that governs how they handle your data

Local Storage

AuroraWrite stores the following data locally in your browser:

• API Keys: Your AI provider API keys are stored securely in Chrome's sync storage
• Settings: Your preferences (enabled categories, sensitivity levels, ignored words)
• Provider Selection: Your chosen AI provider and model

This data never leaves your browser and is not accessible to us or any third party.

Permissions

AuroraWrite requires the following browser permissions:

• storage: To save your settings and API keys locally
• activeTab: To detect and analyze text in the current tab
• Host permissions for AI APIs: To send analysis requests to your chosen AI provider

Data Security

• All communication with AI providers uses HTTPS encryption
• API keys are stored using Chrome's secure storage APIs
• No data is logged or stored on external servers

Your Rights

Since we don't collect any personal data, there is no personal data to access, modify, or delete. Your settings and API keys can be cleared at any time by:

1. Going to Chrome's extension settings
2. Finding AuroraWrite
3. Clicking "Remove" to uninstall and clear all data

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
